OMG I think my Garmin broke?

Morning guys!
I had a lovely little post all set up to go, but I think I am having a nervous meltdown here, and that post is going to be postponed.

I think my Garmin just broke?

Last night, it was beeping that it was low on batteries, so I charged it up all night. This morning, I looked at it, and no matter how many times I plug it into the wall, into the computer, it won't turn on!
What's going on?

Have you ever had this happen to you before? What can I do? The LA Marathon is so close, I don't think I have time to take it to a "repair shop", it repair shops even exist anymore?

I'm really freaking out, so please please please, I beg to hear some advice!

Thanks guys!

  1. I am on my 3rd Garmin for the same reason. The previous 2 just one day decided not to turn on. Luckily, I bought it at REI and they just gave me a new one. I heard that the little circles on the back where it sits in the adapter (have am not tech savvy at all) sometimes loses connection. If you clean that of with rubbing alcohol it may help. Good luck.

  2. Try a manual reset: press the "lap/reset" and "mode" buttons at the same time for a few seconds, then see if it turns out.

Otherwise, try rubbing a pencil eraser gently over the gold prongs on both the watch and cradle, then see if it will charge up.

  3. As Marlene said above and according to my Garmin guru Spike: Press "Mode" and "Lap/Reset" simultaneously.

    Good luck girly!

  5. I was also going to suggest the reset. Make sure to hold "Mode" and "Lap/Reset" for several seconds, then try turning it back on again. This has happened to me a few times, and the reset has always worked.
