Pinch punch first day of the month.
Hope everyone had a great Halloween weekend!
I didn't necessarily party it up on Halloween this year, but I did get to do a few fun things! Like this spooktacular Halloween bike ride with the Long Beach Tri Club!
We had a blast Friday night dressing up, riding around in the dark and hooting and hollering. Good times for sure.
Sunday morning was my second brick workout with the tri club.
Ass has been whooped both times.
Big time.
40 mile ride followed by a three mile run.
I thought the run was going to be tough. No. It turns out the run is the easy part.
I though I was decent on the bike. WRONG! Turns out I have no idea what the HECK I'm doing with my gears, am positioned wrong on the bike, and am very slow. Very humbling for sure, but also very informative and supportive. I feel like I am learning so much more every time I get on my bike. I'm always the last one coming in on the bike, even though I feel like I give it my all. I have a lot to learn for sure! I am thinking about going to get professionally re-fitted on my bike. I was fitted when I initially purchased my bike, but apparently it's not the right fit. I have to agree, because my body just HURTS all over the place after long rides, and not just because I just rode my bike for three hours. I also got my cables readjusted and my chains lubed up. I also need new tape on my handlebars. Man. Bikes are a lot of work! I have some serious learning to do in regards to my bike because....
I did something totally crazy this morning. I'm still kind of in awe.
What did I do?
Signed up for my first Half IRONMAN!
July 2011. Vineman Half Ironman.
9 months to prepare.
HOLY MOLY!
Hills. Lots of hills. 70.3 miles. DANG.
All I know is that the wine better be flowing freely at the finish!
