So beautiful

Long time no see my dear friends.
I have been taking a much needed "break" and recovering from the LA Marathon. Well.... recovery week only consisted of one day of rest, but apparently, my body snapped right back into the swing of things. I think I have biking and swimming to thank for that!

I am taking a whole two weeks off from running though. I hope this will be enough time for my knee to fully recover. As of yesterday, it was still feeling a tad bit wonky, but I think it will be OK. And now that my max running distance is going to be 13-16 miles, I'm not too worried about it. Knees usually only hurt on 20+ miles runs.

Anyhoo. Short post today.
The weather outside has been absolutely ridiculous this past week. So amazingly gloriously beautiful. The crappy El Nino weather we endured this weekend gave birth to beautifully lush and vibrant flowers all over the city. Everywhere I go, the flowers smell so fragrant and sweet. The new grass, the yellow and purple flowers, the clear blue sky, the ocean at low tide... so beautiful.

I don't think I have ever seen the mountains look so beautiful as they did yesterday on my bike ride. Even though it was windy as Heck sometimes, I thoroughly enjoyed the ride. And the more I get comfortable on the bike, the more I enjoy cycling. There is something so satisfying about the gush of wind in my ears, the fatigue in my legs, and the distance I can go. A great alternative to running.

I don't have too much else to report on; there's about 5 races I'm debating signing up for in the next few months, and I will let you know when I do! Three of the races will be completely new territory for me (hint hint) so I am very excited!

And in the meantime I will leave you with this gem I found recently:

Click on the ling. This basically sums up my college life. Yup. Good times, good times. :) Good to see things haven't changed since I left :) Enjoy!

Have a splendid Tuesday, and I promise to be back with more interesting news next time lol

  1. Enjoy the two week hiatus and make sure to get in lots of cross training to help pass the time and stretch things out that are in dire need of stretching! :)
