Best decision ever!!!

Sometimes my genius-ness amazes me. :)
I was kinda worried about my knees hurting yesterday, and I was thinking... hmmmm... I wish there were soft surfaces I could run on.... and then boom! Duh Julia, you live next to the beach! So I spent 90% of my run on the trail next to the beach, running on the sand along the ocean, and any grassy/dirt patch I could find. I went sans iPod, and all I could hear was my own breath and the sound of the waves. It was the most relaxing run! There's something so tranquil about running alone on the trail; I feel like I just get lost in a trance, lost in the crashing cycle of the waves, lost in my breath, and lost in my thoughts. Sometimes I had to run really fast to avoid getting caught in the wave, and I had to run really slow in the sand, but it was soft, serene, and just what I needed on a Friday evening. And I'm super proud of myself for tackling 6 miles. Pain free, too. Hey 6 miles; you are no longer my long run! Booya!

I have to keep this brief, but I have some exciting things coming up next week. I will have a giveaway!!, and a couple of product reviews.
And guess what!!! I am kind of horrifically stoked and excited and tripping out over this, but I have a phone interview....!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I'm not going to disclose any details, and I don't want to jinx it, but I am so freaking overwhelmingly excited. If you have any good karma, or any phone interview tips, please let me know!!!!!!! Thanks for all the positive vibes you have been sending me lately! I owe you all one!

As for now, I'm off to swim, and then to the Greek Festival.

Adios!

  1. YAY JULIA! This is such an exciting post and I'm so happy for you! Not only for tackling an awesome not-so-long 6 miler, but for getting a phone interview! That's so exciting, and I wish you the best of luck. Unfortunately I don't have any phone interview tips, but I know you'll do just great. Have a great weekend! And eat a gyro and some baklava for me :o)

  7. I wish I were closer to the beach to get in some beach runs. I did a 10 miler race on the beach back in January and it was fun. Good job saving that knee!

Good luck on the interview, just remember, because you're not face to face your confidence must be conveyed in your voice and in your answers. Just relax and believe in yourself. You'll smoke it! You got this Julia!!!

  8. I always thought beach running was hard on the knees and legs. Glad to know otherwise.
Btw, PB is my crack also. That's why I'm not sure whether to be glad or sad that Japan doesn't have too much to offer on the PB department. But when I found out about kinako, oh man. I am addicted to that powder!

  12. Wow, lots of great news in this post. I really wish I had a beach to run on, but I'm sure that I'd probably be a dork and still run on the sidewalk.

    Good luck w/ the call!
